Character Name: Martin "Marty" Mikalski
Fandom: Cabin in the Woods (Movie)
Timeline: Post film.
Character's Age: Early 20's (the film never states, but the script said his fellow canon mates were sophomores in College.)

Powers, Skills, Pets and Equipment:
Marty is completely human, he doesn't have any special powers. He is, however, a great observer and shares some empathy toward his close friends. While he may not exhibit such qualities, he's pretty knowledgeable with certain things he finds interesting. In fact, Marty actually knows a good deal about Botany and actually took some classes, albeit not finishing them. He's been shown to do two things at once, such as; driving and smoking at the same time. While, it's only momentarily, the fact he can handle a steering wheel and bong is rather impressive as he's trained himself to do such a feat.

The only equipment Marty has are the clothes he was wearing at the end of the film, a box of matches, and a couple J's of his secret stash that were in his pocket.

Scorched Power: Since Marty was unaffected by Chem Department's concoction in the film, the Mist grants him the ability to avoid any sort of mind manipulation from the residents of Anatole. However, this does not include invulnerability toward the Mist itself and he'll be affected like anyone else should he go into the fog.

Personality:
Take a first glance at Marty and anyone would probably assume he's just some slacker who likes getting high all the time. While this isn't entirely far from the truth, there's a lot more to Marty than just the stoner persona. He may be one of those young adults that isn't motivated like most of his friends and he often goes about spending his days on his own leisurely time. In fact, he likes the slow pace of trying to figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life, which is so unlike the majority of people he hangs with, but he's pretty content with his situation.

While he's enrolled in college, Marty isn't necessarily motivated to earn a name on the Dean's list or get a degree, but that doesn't mean he likes to learn. What he finds interesting enough he'll seek out on his own. In fact, he considers many classes to be a complete waste and over charged. But hey, he's not paying, so why is he complaining? As long as he's actually attending school, he's being supported. However, if his income suppliers ever found out what he was doing, then he'd be in trouble. In fact, Marty is currently in-between jobs and isn't really looking for anything soon either.

But get to know Marty and you'll come to understand that he's a deep thinker. He's aware of how bad the economy is and actually hates the Government. He's actually known by several of his friends to go into rant moods and constantly talk of how bad our society has become. His views on politics in general are very standard Hippie and yeah, he might just crash on your couch some times. And religion. Well, don't get him started on that. Generally speaking, Marty is very opinionated about what he believes in and isn't afraid to tell you. While he'll let someone speak their mind openly and believe what they want, there are many times when he'll have to disagree. But he's not the one to shove it down their throats. Too much.

Marty may be a tad bit stubborn, and while he doesn't normally display this quality for everyone to see, if someone tells him to do something he doesn't feel like doing, he'll gladly let you know by refusing to listen. Very few people can convince him to change his mind and in a way, that also makes him a little bit selfish. He's set in his ways, but he isn't above himself to go out of the way to help a friend. Sure, there are times when the favor isn't worth it- which he'll openly decline- but he cares a great deal about his friends. He accepts them for who they are, granted they accept him. He has shown to go out of his way to help someone in need; when Dana was being attacked by the zombie, he risked his life to save hers. Additionally, it's his selfishness that's kept him alive.

His outlook on life skews more toward the negative and his response to most things are often sarcastic, but he still tries to remain optimistic, especially since he tends to always be in an upbeat mood and constantly joke; dark humored or not. He knows how bad the World is and someone in his close group of friends needs to bring in the laughter. Considered laid back and easy going the majority of the time, a huge part of his good natured demeanor is on account of his drug intake. Marty's aware of how it affects him and honestly, he doesn't care. There are times when Marty comes off a bit paranoid- which is thanks to the weed- but his paranoia has shown to keep him observant and aware of his surroundings; a trait that has shown to come in handy.

Although he's been given the title of The Fool, Marty's behavior toward sexual innuendo has been speculated that he fits more of the Virgin archetype in this situation. His reaction to Jules and Curt's frisky behavior was that of an uncomfortable feeling. While he senses that something is out of character, the fact remains that when Jules began dancing provocatively in front of the fireplace, Marty felt awkward watching. Then again, the two did share a brief relationship in the past, so he may still care about her as more than friends. He appears to enjoy getting high rather than having a relationship too. Then again, that's all he seems to care about doing.

Often called sweet by his female counterparts, Marty does like to please those who he considers friends. He seems to want everyone to be happy, and when no one is, neither is he. He's also very big on sharing. You'll rarely ever see Marty angry, and most times when he does get upset, it's through his rants and general bitterness toward what he dislikes. He's never been shown to exhibit any physical violence, but when push comes to shove, he'll fight for his life. And that means doing whatever is necessary to survive.
